How to Choose a Plastic Surgeon

Training, Experience and Credentials:
The single most important factor in the success of plastic surgery is the Plastic Surgeon you select. The combination of training and judgment that he or she possesses will strongly affect your aesthetic outcome. Therefore, you should experience a consultation with several surgeons to identify whose training, experience and credentials you feel most comfortable with.

Today, many doctors claim to practice plastic surgery, but not all have the same degree of plastic surgery training. A certified Plastic Surgeon has achieved the highest professional standards after completing a post-doctoral residency program as well as the passing of written and oral examinations. Only The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and the American Board of Plastic Surgery can certify Plastic Surgeons in North America . Ask to see these diplomas. A real Plastic Surgeon will be pleased to review his/her credentials with an interested client.

Communication
You should be able to communicate comfortably and easily with your Plastic Surgeon and feel that you both have the same vision and understanding with respect to the aesthetic improvements you will obtain. You should feel equally comfortable with your Plastic Surgeon's staff as they will play an active role in your overall surgical and aesthetic experience.
