Dr. Barr has built a reputation over the years as a caring surgeon who pays meticulous attention to detail in the care and safety of his patients. Scott K.M. Barr, M.D., F.R.C.S.(C) is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is the Medical Director of Barr Plastic Surgery Centre in Sudbury.

Dr. Barr attended medical school at the University of Toronto and earned his degree in Medicine in 1988. His internship and training in Plastic Surgery were obtained at the University of Western Ontario in London and he received his Plastic Surgery Specialist Certification in 1993. Pursuing his special interest in the area of Facial Reconstruction, Dr. Barr went on to complete an additional eighteen months of advanced training in Facial Reconstruction and Cranial Facial Trauma, as well as extra training in Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery.

An outdoor sports and nature enthusiast, Dr. Barr declined positions in larger Canadian and American cities to move with his family to Sudbury in January of 1995 to take advantage of its ample access to winter activities, beautiful lakes and family-oriented lifestyle. Dr. Barr opened his plastic surgery practice in 1995 at the Sudbury General Hospital, but soon experienced extensive waiting lists for his cosmetic procedures. Faced with limited
